As a huge fan of Vagrant, I love the ability to spin up environments such as the sandbox labs I’ve been using for a long time with Vagrant.

I have a Windows 10 VM running on Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac, but I receive the following error when attempting to install Docker Toolbox on the Windows 10 VM: G31m-es2l audio drivers for mac. Yes and No: see this Wiki article and you will see it depends on the system board - if it came w/ a core 2 Duo it may not have enough power at the socket to run the fast quad, but if it already had a quad and you are upgrading then it probably will support the faster quad. I checked on my Mac to make sure VT-X is enabled by running the command contained in this Parallels KB article. The output contains a 'VMX', verifying that virtualization is enabled. Indeed, I am able to install Docker Toolbox directly on the Mac. However, I am unable to install Docker Toolbox on a Windows 10 VM running on my Mac via Parallels. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

I resolved this issue with the Parallels support team. It turns out you need to upgrade to Parallels Pro edition to get support for nested virtualization, which is required for running VirtualBox on a Parallels VM. |
